May Summers-Perkins
Freelance illustrator
from the New Forest, England.
Hello, howdy, hey, I'm May, New Forest Illustrator.
Being an avid pattern designer and typography lover, I take pride in producing greetings cards for people to share intimate moments in their lives. I enjoy taking inspiration from nature and the surrounding area here in the New Forest and the South Coast, England.
My designs are created using a fusion of hand rendered and digital techniques. My portfolio range is growing rapidly, meeting customer demands for specific bespoke themed cards. My unique style and use of a vibrant colour palette, catches the eye and stands out against competitors when on display together in store.
I am a keen advocate of positive mental health and helping others through my illustrations, drawing helps me to keep a positive mindset. This is at the heart of my illustrations to name a few my postcard packs and feel good calendar. Also i developed the colouring sheets to help both children and adults find a way of practising mindfulness.
I exhibit at many craft fairs, where I enjoy speaking to the general public and seeing my work come to life in product form, such as greetings cards, stationary and prints.
I am happy to take commissions and have already designed a number of bespoke items for clients. Please take a browse at my portfolio page to see more.
Feedback
Dinosaur A to Z poster:
"We got your dinosaur print for our son as a gift, and as I didn't recognise any of the dinosaur names (apart from Tyrannosaurus I think) I assumed they were made up. I now realise I was wrong and don't know my dinosaurs, but was interested as to your choice of "non -common" dino names, like fukuiraptor. Son loves it, and it looks great on his wall." Lewis Moss
Commissioned artwork set of three:
"They are fantastic, and i don't think anyone could have done any better! thank you very much." Angela
"I have successfully commissioned a number of bespoke pieces from May, nothing seems too daunting for her! Her designs have translated brilliantly on to cushions which look very stylish on my new sofa and I also used her work on mouse mats for a business marketing promotion. The vibrant colours and clever designs are just perfect." Cherry Bartles-Smith, Microsolv IT Consultants
"May is a fantastic creative workshop host. She is able to share her creative talents in an easy and fun way for students of all abilities. Her paper marbling workshop produced some exciting patterns and all of the students enjoyed winding down learning a new craft." Emma Green, Arts University Bournemouth
